Saturday, Aiden looked out the window and exclaimed "Gee-paw is moving the yard!" Now in most families this might not be odd, to see their grandfather mowing the yard. But Birt has been battling prostate cancer for over a year now. He hasn't had to miss much work but after a long work week, he pretty much is stuck in bed recuperating for the next long work week. But sure enough, he was outside mowing the yard. Aiden and I went out, mostly because I was afraid that he might over do it and pass out or something. But he didn't! He hung in there and did the whole yard. Aiden played and really just enjoyed being outside with one of her grandparents for the first time since we moved here. What a great memory for her!

This is a picture of Gee-paw trimming out the yard. This is the first time in over a year that he has felt well enough to get out and do some yard work. We are hoping he is turning a corner and starting to conquer this Cancer.

This is Aiden playing with her "side chalk" while Gee-paw mowed the lawn. She has sat like this since before she could walk. It just cracks me up.

I don't know if you can tell but Aiden is riding on her car. She is getting far to big for it since her knees end up around her ears but she loves it.

She took a rest on one of the lawn chairs but that wasn't very comfortable. So she went and got a pillow. What a little diva!

Aiden helping sweep up all the grass clippings. She calls it "brooming" makes sense if you think about it.

All in all it was a wonderful morning outside with Gee-paw. Unfortunately, he over did it and spent the rest of the day and then next in bed trying to recover. But it will make a wonderful memory for Aiden.

Way to go!!!
Ahhhh, you're right she is making good memories with Gee Paw. I love that little squat she has, so adorable. Hope Grandpa feel better and pulls through soon. Makes you chersih every momentt when someone you love gets sick.
Yeah Amanda, it really does make you appreciate all the little things. It was so special for her to spend that time with him. Even though it was hot and Mommy felt like she was going to melt, it was way worth it.
